Renovations on Main Street

Charlestown has been a CCRC since 1983. Before that it was a minor seminary for the Sulpician order. The historic buildings date to 1909 so you can imagine the renovation that took place in 1983 when John Erickson opened it as a continuing care retirement community.

Since that time, Main Street, the hallway connecting the common areas between two historic buildings is refreshed every 7 – 10 years to keep it up to a modern standard. Along the hallway are the mailboxes, lobby desk, restrooms, lounge, beauty shop, convenience shop, pharmacy, library, video library, music room, art room, and model train room.  The remodeling started in October and is nearing completion. It is looking so good!
