Charlestown offers day trips to interesting places so we took advantage of one trip recently. The Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia is the companion facility to the Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC
Two large hangars display thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Discovery. Our neighbor, Jon Buck was our docent for the day. He has been a volunteer for many years, driving from Catonsville to Dulles two-three times a week. The Royal Air Force Red Arrows were on site that day as part of their North American tour.
