Florida Get-Away

When we got word that my sister and brother-in-law were going to sell their Bonita Springs, FL home, we decided we needed to do one last visit. I was with my sister the day she saw it for the first time so it was fitting that we were there when the house went on the market. This trip we had a Hyundai Santa Fe as our rental car. When I booked it through the Southwest site, the rate was cheaper than a sedan.

We had an enjoyable six-day visit. We ate at waterside restaurants, at places we ate when we lived in Naples and visited old friends. Village Walk was looking good when we visited Kathleen Adams who lives there. We took her to see the new Erickson Living Sales Center for the Siena Lakes CCRC under development.

I even managed a trip to the Apple store and bought a new Apple Watch series 4 with the fall detection and electrocardiogram feature.

We went to Mass on St. Patrick’s Day at St. John the Evangelist in North Naples. We belonged to that church for many years. The church was damaged in September 2017 when Hurricane Irma came through. It is still under repair. Mass was held in the ballroom and also in the gymnasium of the new Family Life Center.

Tom was cleaning out his electronic bins so I came home with lots of goodies which I gave away at the Apple User Group meeting.

The one day we planned to get in the swimming pool turned overcast and cooler. The house went up for sale the day after we arrived so we were neatniks during our stay.
