Where Have I Been and Mediation

Headspace imageI have had my personal blog on my mind for months. I have neglected it because of other website commitments. It’s not an excuse. If I really wanted to do it, I would make the time. Should I admit I am up to level 995 on Panda Pop. That represents a real time sink as does Facebook and Dailymail.co.uk.

I always wanted to try mediation but didn’t think I could do it. After all Elizabeth Gilbert writing in Eat, Pray, Love had difficulty. And she was in a mediation specific setting. But I discovered Headspace, the mediation app. I started with the free sessions back in September. I missed a few days when I couldn’t download sessions when we were on the trans-Atlantic cruise. Now I am on 71-day streak, Yes, the app keeps track. I now look forward to my daily exercises lasting 10 minutes. I can’t quite describe the feeling, but I do find more focus and clarity each day. My day seems less hectic. I am saying no to activities and setting boundaries in my volunteer work.
